The Barron Forum brings together the Cambridge business community to connect with each other and learn about happenings in the city. February’s forum will focus on Envision Cambridge, the citywide master planning process that is underway. This forum will feature a presentation from the Community Development Department and Utile, the City’s consultant.
This forum is sponsored by the Cambridge Business Coalition (Cambridge Chamber, Kendall Square Association, Central Square Business Association, East Cambridge Business Association, Harvard Square Business Association, and Cambridge Local First) in partnership with the City Manager’s Office.
Executive Director Search: Looking for a career in Central Square? The CSBA is searching for a new Executive Director. The ideal candidate is passionate about enhancing the quality of life in Central Square, fostering a nurturing business environment and building strong relationships within the neighborhood. Applicants should have experience:
- Coordinating multiple projects
- Effectively presenting compelling messages
- Measuring progress and improving operations
- Working closely with board members

After helping to produce one of the most successful Taste of Cambridge events this past July in University Park Common, Sidney Street, and the Landsdowne Quad, the CSBA was very proud to a be a part of the presentation of checks to the beneficiary organizations. Food for Free, Margaret Fuller Neighborhood House, Young People’s Project, Institute for Health and Recovery, Paine Elder Services, On the Rise and CASPAR received a record total to support alcohol and drug education, and/or prevention and/or treatment programs.
The celebration and check presentation was graciously hosted by Andy Husbands and The Smoke Shop.
Unlocking the Potential of Central Square via the Central Square Restoration Petition.
After thorough review and discussion, the CSBA Board voted to support the
Central Square Restoration Petition.
The Central Square Restoration Petition will come before the City in September and outlines opportunities to unlock the potential of Central Square. The petition creates a path for C2 to become a more welcoming, safe, active, and unique business and cultural destination per the work of many community discussions and studies. Please review the attached documents explaining the intent and content of the petition. The CSBA Advocacy Committee will host a meeting in early September to answer questions or in the interim please feel free to write to our Advocacy Committee at firstname.lastname@example.org

FREE FAMILY EVENT IN CENTRAL SQUARE!
THE 2nd Annual STEAM FAMILY DISCO
Sunday, May 22nd, from 12pm to 3pm at the Middle East
The CSBA, Together Festival, City of Cambridge EL STEAM Network and the Middle East, will host our 2nd Annual Central Square STEAM Family Disco.
This is a FREE family event geared towards kids aged 4 to 13 (younger siblings welcome with parental supervision)
and families who want to get out & boogie while enjoying a little Science, Technology, Engineering, ART, and Math in Central Square!
We have local youth Dj’s spinning family friendly disco.
We expect to have tons of fun, with a few rules:
1) Children must be chaperoned by a parent(s)or guardian.
2) Adults must be accompanied by a child to be admitted
3) We will allow a 1 parent to every 2-kids ratio!
4) Parents MUST stay downstairs during the event.
5) Food and drinks will be available for sale.
6) The event and ALL activities are FREE
